More V3 updates
 
The new WI has just dropped on my mat - 15 pages dedicated to the new rules.

Don't have a lot of time - so here a very quick run down. Apologies for brevity.

Not one book but 3 - split into separate rules 308 pages, Forces 100 pages and Hobbies 40 pages books
All wheeled vehicles + Half tracks travel 1.5 x CC on roads
Portee teams with gun shields - now require FP test to destroy from "front"
Individual teams can now double - rest of team unaffected if not shot at
Doubling teams can turn to avoid rough terrain or enemy
Empty transports sent to rear can return
Assaults - def fire from teams within 8" plus changes to who fights (max teams contacted) and what happens at the end
Changes to Recce - not detailed but disengage from assault, arty and compulsory if shot removed
Missions - all teams can start gone to ground
Dig in whilst GTG
Nice big and clear terrain table listing effects - Ground condition (e.g. Dificult), concealment and bullet proof cover
Moving bunker busters cannot targetmoving vehicles
ROF of moving/pinned down is now 1/2 full ROF (not sure if round up or down)
Improved saves for recce softskins (no detail)
Ignore transport casualties
Forces book contains 13 core Intelligence Briefings for LW Europe (with full orbat diagrams as per a standard army list) so maybe this is in effect your plain manilla lists
Big index
Edit - sorry also 3+ save got GTG gun teams

No doubt there will be more in the book but 2 items not there noted were -
- no change to aircraft mentioned
No change to Goliaths + demo vehicles noted

V3: What I heard – A lot of the same (don’t quote me)
1. Bulge – Ardennes Offensive
2. Barbarossa – EW
3. Heavy Breakthrough to apply to older books as well – likewise with direct fire mortars
4. Assaults – transports (update) drive under fire
5. Mounted Assaults - as in GW
6. In Name Only Companies – restrictions for companies and their reserves (i.e. the number of armoured platoons your able to deploy).
7. Extra bonus for transports
8. Wheeled – movement bonus, up to 12” rather than 8” – not applicable in terrain.
9. Terrain – some clarifications (FINALLY ) – clear definitions – corn fields like forests (YES)
10. Building rules – cleaned up, fewer complexes – easier to get in and out.
11. Hit allocation – hits possible to turret (a chance) vs. side armour (Can you say that Panthers are going to have a much better chance now). GO Turrets.
12. MG teams – ROF 2 when pinned – AMAZING – finally worth getting the SS infantry.
13. Flame Throwers – knocked down a not, have to FP to bail tanks, can’t kill tanks (sorry German pioneers, and Russian FT teams)
14. Vehicle MG’s – the same. Brian buy more dice you still get the bucket of MG shots.
15. Gun Saves – 3+ save when GTG,
16. Assaults – Steps are familiar – but things are cleaned up. Assaults are in bubbles – so you’re not bringing in guys from half way across the table. Getting rid of the assault craziness.
17. If you can DF and bail or destroy 2 tanks, you see off assaults from tanks. PF, Bazookas, and Guns are now more awesome – and can attempt to hit tanks in the side rather than top armour.
18. Airplanes – in the open they do not have to range in, however, targets in cover – you only get 1 range in attempt.
19. Missions – added missions; 1. Surrounded (no reserves – defender in the middle and attacker on both sides), others missions have undergone changes – not much playing differences. There is a new mission table generator – great for events. 12 MISSIONS – WOW!
20. AMAZING INDEX – mini table of context, section contents, and main contents page.
